A heartbreaking tribute to Carter, from my mother
Carter Matthew Hodges,
You are my first and only grandchild.
You brought hundreds of people together, over several states, to pray together. They loved you!
I was the blessed one and thankful one, that was able to hold you and look into your big sweet eyes. I was thankful to hold you, feed you, and pray for you. You were such a perfect baby to me and you rested so easily in my arms.
You were cherished. Everything that could be done to protect you, help you, and heal you was done. It was done so that you could stay with us, grow older with us.
We all wanted you to stay longer, but you had to go, and we had to say goodbye for now, until we meet again in heaven.
You will always be missed.
You will always be in our dreams.
You will always be loved, forever and ever.
So with all my heart, I say, “Goodbye, my love.”
