These are books that the Lord has used to bless me in my journey as a medical mom during Carter’s life, and in my journey with grief in the wake of his passing. I hope these books can bring you growth or comfort in your journey too.
Safe In The Arms of God
John MacArthur
This book has been so amazing for me. I always knew in my heart that the Lord brings the little ones to Him, but I couldn’t have told you where we see this in Scripture. John MacArthur does a wonderful job of walking through the many instances in Scripture that can give us assurance that our little ones who have gone before us, are in heaven. This book has been an amazing comfort to me in the wake of Carter’s death.
Understanding the NICU
Jeanette Zaichkin
When Carter was admitted to the NICU, I knew as much about the medical field as a thespian knows about rocket science. This book gave me a voice. Suddenly, I understood what was going on around me, and felt like I could finally begin to understand conversations with doctors. I went from being confused and clueless, to having an active involvement in my son’s care. If you are a NICU mama, this book is a must read!
